The "Best" Death

Lately, I've become such a sucker for the grim. Death and melancholy have been surrounding my thoughts, and it doesn't help that most of what I watch and read is about fate, destiny, and the frailties of life.

Don't worry, I'm far from suicidal, but a question seems to keep lingering in my mind.

What matters most: how we live or how we die?

We live on this earth for all but a short time and we don't know our passing.  There are people who will give their entire lives toward making the world a better place, and there are those who choose to die so others can live...

There is honor in both actions, but if you think about it, which holds more weight? It's really hard to discern, but from what I've come to understand...its takes true courage and heart to choose death so that you can save the life of another!

I just wanted to talk about several sacrificial scenarios that I've watched that really touched my heart...

I finished the anime, Samurai 7, about a week ago, and it was this show that really sparked my thoughts. The anime is short. It lasts only about 20 something episodes, but the message was deep and truly got to me.

In their world, samurai are used to help defend people against foes (kinda like police), but due to changing times, technology took the place of samurai and their powerful skill "went out of business".

In the story, there is a farm town overtaken by "technological" rebels. They were stealing their food and leaving the town with little to nothing to survive off of. The towns people hired the samurai because it was the only way they could be defended.

Many of the samurai that end up helping the farmers are originally wanderers. They mind their own business and do their own thing. I found it interesting that once the samurais' were convinced to help the farmers, they became willing to risk their lives to the death in order to fulfill that commitment. Many of the samurai ended up sacrificing themselves in the line of duty just so that they could achieve an honorable death. Before the farmers, the samurai had no intention to risk their lives, but in the end it was all about being corageous, righteous, and loyal to the mission.

The message is to fight for what you believe in no matter the cost, even if that means you'll die in the end.

It makes me think of the wars going on and the sacrafices being made by the men and women out there fighting day in and day out just to protect our spoiled nation. They honestly deserve way more credit than what they are given.

After Samauri 7, I started watching One Piece to appease my brother's obsession and I must admit, from what I saw it was pretty awesome.

What struck me though was Luffy's beliefs. He says:

"If I die trying, then at least I tried"

I haven't watched much One Piece, I think I'm at episode 6 or 7 out of 600.  By the time I finish I'll probably be on my death bed. But what really gravitates me to the show is Luffy's purpose and willingness to risk his life on a consistent basis in order to go after what's true to him. Whether its his dreams or his friends, he will put his life on the line because that is what matters in the end...what you die for...

It's this trait that makes Luffy a pretty cool dude along with his crazy fighting skills.

There seemed to be a trend in this subject. I went to the movies this past weekend and saw it in both movies, Man of Steel and This is the End. Granted one movie was super serious and the other was hilarious, but I got the message from both. Dying with purpose is the "best" way to go.

After watching all of these shows, I think about my life and where its going. I think about my dreams and the things that I would be willing to put my life on the line for. I guess you don't really know for sure until the predicament actually arises...but if you had to would you be strong enough to sacrafice your life to fulfill a purpose?

Whoa Whoa Whoa!!! Ok

Since my lovely sister has posed the topic, it would be unholy if i did not comment. So I have a few issues with this Anime Justice League (AJL).

My answer is HELL THE FUCK NO!! This would not be the Original 8 AJL.  For several reasons but ima give two.

1) In anime the power differences are to epic, and the differences in anime universes are too epic.

We all seen how DC tried, as sad as the attempt was, to combine universes with Mortal Combat and we all see how that ended.....(Not Well) ....There is too much anime to pose a actual team of heroes. How do u choose a champion of hero's when every one is a boss. And no im not saying that every one is beastly in all anime's. Every anime has there neubs where they can only get mildly strong even tho they train as much as every1 else. I like to call those Yamcha's. LOL.  People in this category are but are not limited too: Kiba(naruto), Renji (bleach),  Buggy & Mr. 3 (one piece), Lerio (hunter x hunter), Yamcha (DBZ) and the list goes on.

2) Majority of these anime's in this picture were made in the 80-90s era.

If we are going to speak about a AJL we have to keep it up to date.. But, yes Superman and Batman and the rest of them are from the 80s also. However, they are 1) all apart of the same universe 2) they are still the top in their category. No1, in the DC universe to date, are better then the original 8 Justice Leaguers. Now im not saying there are not stronger people cuz their are .. Like Shazam.... Shazam would give flash the business in strength, but all the same, flash is the flash. He's got years on little ole billy. He fought and learned from the best like Batman. But to get back to the point, the diverse universes in anime and the power between those universes play a huge factor. Some of the new anime's named above would pawn the ones in the picture. So since we are in the 21st century only 1 can pose relevant. .....ahhhh.... mmmm....2 can pose relevant lol

Sigh...for the sake of the topic I will choose my personal true original 8 Anime Justice Leaguers.
First let me give props to where props are due.

So the first spot in which every1 could have called would be: Goku

Every1 knows that GOKU IS SUPERMAN. Goku would whoop Superman's ass, their power levels are soo different ... real talk Super Sayian 2 Goku would give superman the business.. and lets just say hypothetically that Superman flew up to the sun and gained as much strength as he possibly can ... Goku screams a lil then BAM!!! SuperSayian 3... god forbid SuperSayian 4 ... smh ... there would only be blood .... only blood...

Our #2 is going to have to be the one and only: Monkey D. Luffy

If you don't know who this man is kill yourself. He is a goofy but hes strong as hell and very few in the anime world cans top him. People literally faint just by looking at him.  It would be blasphemy if the Pirate King was not part of the original 8. His team alone is boss. So they def are in the unlimited version of the Anime Justice League.

The #3 spot has to go the the Hokage himself: Naruto

Even though the anime is becoming a lil cliche, Naruto still gets the top seat when it comes to strength. He's a natural team play (as we know from the anime)and only few can actually bang with him in the whole anime universe.

#4 on the list has to be Natsu Dragneel

I fell off of fairy tale but natsu was always  beast and as i catch up he continuous to impress me so ill give him a spot on the squad . Fire breather/Dragon Trainer Natsu I think is a clutch hitter in this squad.

#5 stand strong goes to the man himself: Adult Avatar Aang

Ok, granted the Legend of Kora told us nothing did not give us much insight to all the accomplishments Adult Avatar Aang has accomplished but the brother is by far one of the greatest/ strongest avatars to live. He was the first to take bending powers away (Fire Lord Ozai) and he did this as a child smh. Read the comics, his a monster. I know it was a curveball but Adult Avatar Aang holds it down in my book  and he brings balance to the team which is much needed. ..... He uses all the elements at his mercy ... and Avatar mode in his adult form smh .... Kora has big shoes to fill...(Aang wears no shoes) :::Paradox::: lol

With all this muscle there needs to be some brains so

The #6 spot going to my man: Zero

Hailing from Code Geass this man has one of the most strategic minds I ever had the pleasure to witness... YOOOO....  what he did in his anime is crazy .... the only anime character that comes close to his strategic mind is Aizen from bleach (I'm not a bleach fan but i give respect to where respects due) but yo I tip my hat off to the planner .... So hello to the mind behind the AJL.

#7 goes to the lovely: Yoruichi

As sexi as she is, she a beast. She is one of the fastest movers in Bleach, and is the equivelent to the leader of the Anbo in Naruto.  No1 is touching her flash step its deadly and she's can transform into a cat. Besides building diversity Yoruichi would primarily be used for her spying/ninja skills. Cuz every good team needs a spy/ninja [i.e. Avengers, Justice League, Ninja Turtles, etc...] she's holding it down for the ladies on the team and sex so sexi doing it .. AND SHES BLACK!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW HAPPY I GET WHEN I SEE A BLACK ANIME CHARACTER WHOS A BEAST. She's a bad bitch and yes, I would tear that pussy up rep her all day. (got a pussy joke in :-) #winning)

Last but not least the 8th and final member of my personal AJL is "drum roll"

#8:  King Sinbad

Ok, this is my dude right now i fucking live him ... now I am sure alot of you may think there are sooooooo many other better people to take this 8th spot but honestly Sinbad is a beast and he's human ... he has no real power but common sense and courage. He's smart and funny but strong as hell if he has his jewelry on (magical items) but he is the equivalent to like  Green Arrow if that helps for all those that don't know who he is. And yes, Green Arrow isn't part of the original 8 but meh... he's still a dope character and so is Sinbad..

So this is my top 8 for a Anime Justice League. This group of 8 will shyt on DC... Goku can take like 6 of them alone. But I would love to see this come to pass just one movie and I would be happy. Say hello to the Justice League.

Anime Justice League

I don't think I can honestly agree with this...but many people would probably say that Goku is the Superman of anime....what do you think?

Wooohooo! Summer Movies!

Went to the movies last night to see the Smith duo in action for their movie After Earth. At first I had my doubts because it was directed by M. Night Shyamalan who is the most horrible director ever a very questionable director. He came out with some good movies, such as The Sixth Sense (which I didn't see, no horror remember), Unbreakable, Signs. But I can not forgive him for what he did to Avatar, The Last Airbender. I still shudder at the thought.

My boyfriend and I watched the movie anyway, and I won't give anything away but it was an OK movie. I wouldn't advise anyone to pay for it unless you really want to support the Smiths. They are phenomenal actors. (sidenote: I realized Will Smith can honestly play Obama if there ever is a movie about him...he would be perfect) The best parts of the movie involve the Sci-fi aspects. I love that Will Smith plays in a lot of Sci-fi movies. He was great in I-Robot and The Legend. The movie takes place in a post-Earth world, hence the name "after earth". No one lives on earth anymore because humans ruined it. They end up at the post-earth because their plane crash lands there...and the story begins. There is a lot of new technology that is introduced, nothing crazy, but I always like to see what our future will look like according to the movies. I mean, didn't we get Bluetooth and tablets from movie depictions???

As everyone knows, the Smith family is all about, well, family and this movie is surely just that. It's more of a movie to watch with your kids (pre-teen/teenage) rather than a pure action film. It does drag and people in the movie theater kept getting up to walk out. A lot of people actually left before it ended (I hate that, why pay the money if you're not going to finish? Whack!). I'm not going to lie, I did tear up at a couple parts because I'm a softie. I also enjoyed Zoe Kravitz. I only seen her in one other movie, X-Men First Class. In this movie she was enjoyable. I wish she played more of a role, but the movie was primarily focused on the Smith relationship which was still cool. The movie is not a typical M. Night Shyamalan movie and you can tell the Smiths had everything to do with that. The credits showed that Will and Jada produced the crap out of the movie and I'm pretty sure M. Night had no real say...but in the end he gets paid and that's all that really matters lol. The movie is gonna do well just because people love Will and Jaden.

The best part about the movies is the previews.

Apparently there are a lot of interesting movies coming out this summer, especially, because they're based on books. Two movies I absolutely can not wait for...

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones & Ender's Game

OMG!  Can't wait for these movies, especially City of Bones. I've read all of the Mortal Instruments books (5 in all). I'm curious to see how they will do things on screen....there is a lot of crazy ish that happens in the books...demons, vampires, werewolves, fairies, epic battles...it has it all. It's a fantasy fanatic's (like myself) dream. ::happy dance::

I haven't read Ender's Game but I was going to at some point. So before the movie comes out I will have to find time to read. (Audible.com... Best. App. Ever.) The trailer was cool and makes the book look interesting...when I'm finally done with the Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones), I'll make sure this is my next read. Oh, and even thought this movie comes out in November, I had to add it cuz I'm such an adaptation groupie (^.^)

More movies I'm looking forward to...

I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting more...if I remember I'll add it.

And I'm done.

Peace,

~Neen

P.S. Fast & Furious 6 was the SHIZZ-NIT!!! What!! What!! ::another happy dance::
